UPDATE: A1 all lanes reopen after major incident that closed all lanes north and southbound
A major incident that closed the A1 in both directions near Markham Moor, Tuxford, has been cleared.
Drivers were earlier urged to avoid the route owing to long delays.
Highways England said that due to the nature of the incident, the road would likely be closed throughout the morning, with long ldelays likely.
The incident is now clear and normal service resumed.
