WRENTHORPE are handily placed to lift the Premier Division championship for the first time since 2006 after increasing their lead to 13 points.

Captain Gary Fellows struck an unbeaten 115 off 88 balls and shared an unbroken 110-run partnership with Bradley Parker (45no) to steer unbeaten Wrenthorpe to an eight-wicket win at Altofts.

Joe Ellis (5-44) limited Altofts to 220-9 that featured an unbroken last-wicket stand of 55 between Lee Padgett (76no) and former Wrenthorpe captain Kevin Watson (41no).

New Farnley climbed to second when Ian Fisher (58), Sam Lavery (47no) and David McCallum (47no and 3-42) led them to a 53-run win at Northowram Fields.

Methley's hopes of retaining the title faded with a third successive league defeat when they lost to derby rivals Townville.

Peter Hepworth (3-24), Dean Woolsey (2-36), Ritchie Bresnan (2-39) and Jonathan Booth (2-36) sent Methley collapsing from 90-1 to 180 all out, chasing Townville's 192-8 that included an unbeaten 41 by Greig Batty.

Wakefield Thornes' bid was rocked by a surprise defeat in a low-scoring game against lowly Batley. Thornes were skittled for 65 chasing 95.

Birstall eased their relegation worries with a five-wicket victory against fellow strugglers Ossett.

Indian opener Connor Williams hit 14 boundaries in an unbeaten century and put on 151 for the second wicket with Rob Peregrine (70) as Birstall overhauled Ossett's 247-9 with six overs to spare.

Chris Hosley (54) and Andrew Langley (47) led Ossett's scoring with a 117-run stand.

Liversedge slipped deeper into trouble with a 92-run defeat against Wakefield St Michael's.

Jake Thorne (3-31) and Michael Carroll (3-58) toppled Liversedge for 173 after Geoff Hunt (108no) and Michael Carroll (52no) had shared an unbroken 122-run partnership to guide St Michael's to 265-6.

Division One favourites Hunslet Nelson increased their lead to 15 points when they crushed Ossett and their closest rivals Carlton lost to Mirfield PC.

Bradley Drake hammered 107 off 71 deliveries and put on 130 with Milan Gunarathne (70) as Cavaliers made 306-7 before holding Carlton to 234-9.
