Yorkshire first team rested after Easter nightmare

JOE SAYERS will captain a young Yorkshire side in their three-day match at Durham University, starting tomorrow.

The club have opted to rest most of the first team following a poor start to the season, with Yorkshire having lost two of their first three Championship games and been humbled by the Netherlands in the CB40.

Ajmal Shahzad will play at the Racecourse Ground as he continues his comeback following a hamstring injury.

David Wainwright and Oliver Hannon-Dalby are the only two players chosen to travel who featured in Yorkshire’s last Championship game against Nottinghamshire.
