Barnsley 4 Bristol City 2: Haynes leads Oakwell thriller

Danny Haynes returned to haunt his old club as Barnsley secured just their second win in 11 matches in a dramatic six-goal thriller.

Haynes, who left Ashton Gate in January, scored the hosts’ second goal as they fought back from a goal down to post a solid win.

Marvin Elliott fired the visitors in front after just six minutes.

But Andy Gray equalised from the penalty spot after Elliott was penalised for handball, before Haynes made it 2-1 to Barnsley.

And just on the stroke of half-time, Jacob Butterfield nipped in to the delight of the Oakwell faithful.

Paul McShane made it 4-1 in the second half, before Nicky Maynard replied for City.
