The 20-year-old will join the Bantams for the remainder of the season and fill the void left by Austin Samuels who returned to parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.

Boro signed the Grimsby Town academy product in the summer of 2019, after he made four senior appearances for the Mariners.

“I am very excited to be here and cannot wait to get started," said Burrell, who made his debut for Middlesbrough in their third round FA Cup defeat to Brentford.

“I have a lot of experience in the Under-23s but I am desperate to play first-team football and be a part of Bradford City, so feel I have made the right decision.

“This is my first loan move and will be a challenge, but I feel ready and am looking forward to hopefully scoring some goals.”

Interim Bantams boss Mark Trueman added: “Our attack is one of the areas we knew we needed to strengthen, and Rumarn’s arrival is the first of hopefully a few more to come, this window.

“He is fast and direct with an eye for goal, which are all things we are desperate to bring to the side.

“Conor and I have been monitoring him ever since our days in youth football, and are confident in his ability to compete at this level. We look forward to seeing him in action, out at Valley Parade.”
