2026/27 Championship table predicted with Sheffield United, Middlesbrough FC, West Ham & Millwall verdicts

Supercomputer predicts 2026/27 Championship table with verdicts on Sheffield United, Middlesbrough and more

The dust is still settling on the 2025/26 Championship season - but attention is already turning to the campaign ahead.

Middlesbrough endured a brutal end to the season, suffering a play-off final defeat to Hull City after their dramatic reprieve in the midst of the ‘spygate’ saga.

They joined Southampton and Millwall as top-six clubs condemned to another season in the second tier. Hull joined Coventry City and Ipswich Town in the Premier League, with West Ham United, Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers heading in the other direction.

Sheffield United will be among the clubs looking to mount an assault on the promotion picture, and the pressure will be on for Chris Wilder’s men. The Blades slumped to a 13th-placed finish last term, falling way short of pre-season expectations.

Wrexham, Derby County and Norwich City are among those who came close to the play-offs and like Sheffield United, will be eyeing improvement.

Deals done over the course of the summer transfer window will mould opinions but it is fun to get some early predictions in.

BettingLounge have fired up a supercomputer to crunch the numbers and predict how the final Championship table will look next May.
