Club Doncaster complete purchase of Doncaster Rovers' Cantley Park training ground
CLUB Doncaster has completed the purchase of the Cantley Park training ground from City of Doncaster Council.
Doncaster Rovers first-team and the club’s academy train at the facility, alongside Doncaster Rugby League.
The training ground site will continue to be wholly owned by Doncaster Rovers Football Club and held on its balance sheet, which will help strengthen the club’s financial position.
The purchase follows the major investment already made in the facility, which will continue.

Significant upgrades have previously seen a new, state-of-the-art gym and medical building open.
Gavin Baldwin, chief executive of Club Doncaster, said: "Owning the land at Cantley Park outright gives us the security to continue investing in the facilities where our players train every day.
"This is a significant step for Doncaster Rovers, the academy and Doncaster Rugby League and places the club on a stronger financial footing.
"We would like to thank City of Doncaster Council for their support in completing the purchase.”
Back in April, papers revealed that Rovers had taken ownership of the training facility at Cantley Park after purchasing the land freehold from City of Doncaster Council.
Rovers bought the 15-acre site, off of Ascot Avenue in Cantley, for an undisclosed fee, with council documents only revealing the agreed sale price to be less than £1million.
Before the purchase, DRFC held a 99-year lease with the local authority for the site, known as the Club Doncaster Elite Performance Centre, which it paid rent for.
