Former Barnsley centre-back Lee Collins has died aged 32.

Collins came through the Wolverhampton Wanderers youth system but never played for them. The team he played for most was Port Vale. He left for Barnsley in March 2012, initially on loan in the midst of an Oakwell defensive crisis, playing seven times.

The move was made permanent in the summer but he never added to his appearances for the club, joining Shrewsbury Town online, and being released by the Reds in January 2013.

He joined Yeovil in 2019, leading them to the Conference play-offs.
