Huddersfield Town chief Martin Drury's prediction regarding 'brilliant' former Portsmouth defender Ibane Bowat
HUDDERSFIELD Town head coach Martin Drury has lavished praise in the direction of defender Ibane Bowat – for his inquisitive nature and not just his on-pitch performances.
The former Portsmouth player, who joined on a three-year deal in early August, has slotted in seamlessly at Town, despite only arriving on the eve of the new season.
Bowat, 23, made his debut just a few days after joining in the Carabao Cup tie against Preston and started the League One opener on August 15.
The ex-Scotland Under-21 international has been an ever-present at league level so far this term and has proved a consistent, able figure on the left-hand side of the backline.

Bowat's professionalism and desire for self-improvement has also deeply impressed Drury, with the Londoner keen to make his mark after struggling to establish himself at Pompey, although a serious injury in 2024 didn't help his cause, initially.
Drury said: “He is a great example because he came in, not having had the (pre-season) minutes that he probably needed.
“We threw him straight in. He's one of the most down-to-earth, humble men you'll come across. He loves his football and is very, very intelligent, conscientious and is desperate to get better and play at the highest level he can.
“He sees us as a vehicle to do that, believes in what we're doing and he's amazing to work with. He's been brilliant. I had a conversation with him (on Wednesday) where he was knocking on the door.
“He said: 'What else can I do? What more do you need from me? Can we do this? Can we do that? I've been really pleased with him and I think he'll only get better.”
