Nathan Lowe fired the Chairboys into a first-half lead, sparking worry inside the Accu Stadium.
However, the Terriers got back on level terms when Ryan Ledson rifled home an unstoppable effort past Will Norris.
Huddersfield pressed relentlessly for a second, eventually registering one in the 75th minute. Alfie May’s shot was only deflected as far as Marcus Harness at the back post and the playmaker slotted home from point blank range.
The game approached an end in chaotic fashion, as three goals were registered beyond the 90th minute. Connor Taylor levelled for Wycombe before Harness struck back to notch his second of the afternoon.
Huddersfield were heading for victory but could not prevent Lowe heading home his second 11 minutes into stoppage time.
