Huddersfield Town transfer latest: Former Barnsley midfielder joins Plymouth Argyle on loan
HUDDERSFIELD Town midfielder Herbie Kane has linked up with League One rivals Plymouth Argyle on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
Kane recently returned to training after a groin issue, with the Bristolian having been sidelined since mid-September with the problem, which required surgery.
To boost his game-time levels, the 27-year-old has now headed back to the south west.
Kane’s last appearance was in mid-September.

Town head coach Liam Manning commented: "Coming off a long set-back, the best thing to get Herbie back up to speed is regular meaningful minutes, and that’s not something we can guarantee him here with the competition for places we have in midfield areas, especially with other players hoping to return from their own injuries in the near future too.
"A shame for him to have missed so much of the season with injury, Plymouth Argyle are an ambitious side themselves with their own goals for the season, so that’s no bad environment to join. We’ll keep tabs on how Herbie progresses, and wish him nothing but the best out on loan.”
Town sporting director Chris Markham added: "Plymouth Argyle showed a real desire to get this deal complete and we’re happy to agree a move that is in Herbie’s best interests so soon after returning from injury.
"Plymouth Argyle are a good fit for his style of play, and he wasn’t against the prospect of testing himself elsewhere over the next few months, either.

"Heading off with our full support and best wishes, we hope that this is a positive move for all concerned between now and the end of the season."
Kane joined Town following the end of his deal at Oakwell in the summer of 2024. He penned a three-year contract with the Terriers and is contracted at the club until next summer.
The schemer joined Liverpool academy as a teenager, remaining with the Merseysiders for seven years between 2013-2020.
Following loans with Doncaster Rovers and Hull City, the former England under-17 international moved permanently to Barnsley in the 2020 close season and was a mainstay for the Tykes following a season on loan with Oxford United in 2021-22.
Kane is the latest player to head out of Town in the winter window, with Joe Taylor linking up with Wigan Athletic on loan a few weeks ago.
Back-up keeper Jacob Chapman joined Crawley on loan for the rest of the campaign, while midfielder Ben Wiles transferred to MK Dons in a permanent move.
