Hull City stay 'increasingly likely' for Cody Drameh amid Millwall, Stoke City and Preston North End links

A fresh claim regarding Cody Drameh’s Hull City future has emerged following links to Millwall, Stoke City and Preston North End

Cody Drameh is reportedly set to stay at Hull City - despite talk of interest from a trio of EFL clubs.

The 24-year-old joined the Tigers from Leeds United in 2024 and has since racked up 55 appearances across all competitions.

He managed just 16 starts in their promotion-winning Championship campaign and there has been talk of a potential return to the second tier.

Cody Drameh tipped for Hull City stay

However, Sky Sports have claimed it appears likely Drameh will stay and fight for minutes in the Premier League.

The report has claimed the right-back would prefer to stay put and considering Hull have not strengthened in his position this summer, he may get opportunities if he can dislodge Lewie Coyle.

A move could always materialise next year, when Drameh’s contract is due to expire. He will be free to speak to overseas clubs in January if a fresh agreement is not struck.

Cody Drameh’s career path

Drameh undoubtedly has talent but the defender has not yet been unable to reach the heights he was tipped for as a teenager.

Leeds signed him from Fulham’s academy in 2020 and he quickly established himself among their most promising young talents.

He picked up caps for England at under-20 and under-21 level while on Leeds books’, yet opportunities in West Yorkshire were limited.

After loan spells at Cardiff City, Luton Town and Birmingham City, Drameh rejected the offer of a new Leeds contract in 2024 and departed.

Hull swooped and Drameh spoke of his desire to lay down roots after putting pen to paper.

He said: “It’s been a bit unstable for me - I’ve been around a lot - so now to finally settle down in Hull, and hopefully do some big things with Hull, is really nice.”
