Liam Millar swap deal mooted as Hull City and Stoke City 'discuss' ex-Huddersfield Town star Sorba Thomas
Hull City are said to be entertaining a potential swap deal with Stoke City
Hull City are reportedly discussing the possibility of a swap deal involving Liam Millar in their pursuit of Stoke City’s Sorba Thomas.
Stoke are said to have knocked back a Hull bid for Thomas worth around £7m, seemingly digging their heels in over the influential winger.
Fans were left to wonder whether Hull would persist and it appears the Tigers have not given up chasing the former Huddersfield Town star.

Hull City swap deal mooted
According to Sky Sports, there have been talks over a deal that would see Millar head in the opposite direction.
The 26-year-old has appeared in each of Hull’s first two games of the 2026/27 season, but summer transfer business has intensified the competition for places in Sergej Jakirovic’s squad.
He may find himself being a bit-part player this term and the report has indicated he has interest from elsewhere in the Championship.
Offering up Millar could prevent Hull having to pay at least £10m for Thomas, a figure Stoke are reportedly holding out for.
However, they may still need to fork out some cash for the signature of the Wales international. Thomas made 47 appearances for Stoke last term, registering 10 goals and 13 assists.
Millar was not quite as key for Hull, contributing three assists and five goals across 38 outings.

Sorba Thomas’ Yorkshire history
Thomas is no stranger to Yorkshire having cut his teeth in the EFL with Huddersfield. He was on the books of the Terriers between 2021 and 2025, making 125 appearances before linking up with Stoke.
When he departed for the Potters, then-Huddersfield boss Lee Grant said: “Stoke City have presented the club with a generous offer for Sorba’s services and the player has shown a desire to pursue that opportunity, so it’s a deal that works for all concerned. I wish him nothing but the best with his new side.”
