Hull City's bright start, Yorkshire derby winners and losers plus contrasting times for Steel City rivals - The YP FootballTalk Podcast

THE go-to football show that covers ALL of Yorkshire’s Premier League and EFL clubs - Leeds United, Hull City, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley, Bradford City, Doncaster Rovers, Huddersfield Town, Rotherham United and York City.

On this week’s show, The YP’s Stuart Rayner and Leon Wobschall join host Mark Singleton to discuss the latest news and developments surrounding Yorkshire’s leading clubs.

They start off by looking at the season so far for Hull City, sat mid-table and boosted slightly by their 2-2 draw against Premier League rivals Ipswich Town, offering hope that the Tigers could upset the odds and survive their first season back in the top-flight.

The Yorkshire derby between Bradford City and fellow League One high-fliers Huddersfield Town at Valley Parade went the way of the visitors by way of a 3-0 win for Martin Drury’s Terriers, laving new Bantams boss Michael Duff with plenty to contemplate ahead of this weekend's FA Cup first round encounter at home to non-league Marine.

Sheffield Wednesday had to settle for a point in their 1-1 stalemate with Blackpool, the first game following the appointment of Dave Challinor. The panel assess what the new head coach’s priorities are at Hillsborough over the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, Steel City rivals Sheffield United made their latest trip across the Pennines worthwhile when a Sydie Peck hat-trick delivered a 3-2 Championship win at struggling rock-bottom Preston North End, now managed, of course, by former Bradford boss, Graham Alexander. Is this a turning point for Chris Wilder’s team?

Finally, this week sees Leon handed the task of selecting a Yorkshire Player of the Week, while Stuart looks for the best performing Team of the Week.
