Leeds United team news: Blow as playmaker ruled out of Crystal Palace game

Harry Wilson is out of Leeds United's game at home to Crystal Palace, and most likely Wales' upcoming Nations League games.

A year after they first tried, the Whites finally landed the playmaker this summer, but his Elland Road career is yet to really take off.

The 29-year-old started the first game of the season but has only been used from the bench in the Premier League since then.

"Sadly Harry Wilson is out for this game with a quad injury," said Farke. "He reported some problems after the last game and also during this training week he will probably also miss the Welsh games.

"So definitely not good news for him and also not for the Welsh team.

"Harry is out, Joe Rodon is out and all the others are available."

Wales have Nations League games against Portugal, Denmark (twice) and Norway in the international break.

Midfielder Ilia Gruev had an important milestone this week on his return from a knee injury.

"After his long term injury it was important to get his first minutes in the under-21 game," said Farke. He played nearly 90 minutes which was good for his confidence in his body.

"He's available for the weekend."

Farke was speaking hours after Dominic Calvert-Lewin's recall to the England squad.

"Fully deserved," was Farke's verdict, "a perfect start to the new season – (he has) scored goals, has delivered performances, plays with confidence and in a good rhythm and Dominic definitely deserves the call-up."

The Palace game is being played on Sunday to give the visitors extra time to recovery after playing in the Europa League on Thursday.
