Blackburn Rovers 'keen' on Sheffield United and Burnley-linked Middlesbrough FC stalwart Dael Fry
Blackburn Rovers join list of clubs to have been linked with Middlesbrough stalwart Dael Fry
Blackburn Rovers will reportedly be keen on speaking to Dael Fry if a new contract agreement is not reached with Middlesbrough.
The 28-year-old has spent his entire career on the books at the Riverside, amassing 296 appearances for the club across all competitions.
However, the defender could soon walk away for free with his contract due to expire at the end of the month.

Blackburn Rovers credited with interest in Middlesbrough stalwart
Burnley were recently linked with the defender, joining Sheffield United, Lincoln City and Charlton Athletic as a Championship outfit to have been credited with interest in the centre-back.
According to the Northern Echo, Blackburn could look to engage Fry in talks if departs Middlesbrough as a free agent. Rovers recently appointed former Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray as their new head coach.
However, both Fry and Middlesbrough are said to be confident over fresh terms being agreed. Boro boss Kim Hellberg is a huge admirer of Fry and the defender’s experience could prove invaluable next season.
Transfer uncertainty at Middlesbrough
Fry is not the only Middlesbrough academy graduate seemingly facing an uncertain future. There is plenty of speculation surrounding midfielder Hayden Hackney, who has a raft of Premier League admirers.
Everton were recently reported to have entered talks over a deal for the 23-year-old, although are not thought to have got close to Middlesbrough’s valuation. As a result, negotiations between the Toffees and the Teessiders are said to have grinded to a halt.

Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion have all been reported as admirers, as have Leeds United, therefore could take advantage of Everton’s apparent unwillingness to dig deeper.
For Hellberg and the Middlesbrough faithful, clarity is key. There may indeed be outgoings this summer, but the club will be keen to avoid drawn-out transfer sagas hanging over pre-season preparations like a cloud.
