Sheffield United confirm Chesterfield loan move for ex-Doncaster Rovers and Falkirk man Louie Marsh
Sheffield United have confirmed a fresh loan challenge for a fringe forward
Sheffield United forward Louie Marsh has joined League Two outfit Chesterfield on a season-long loan deal.
The 22-year-old made his senior debut for the Blades in 2023 but has been unable to establish himself at first-team level.
A former England Under-20s international, Marsh has previously been loaned out to Doncaster Rovers, Fleetwood Town and Falkirk.
Sheffield United send Louie Marsh out on loan
He has now sealed the fourth temporary move of his career, linking up with the Spireites on a deal running until the end of the current campaign.
After putting pen to paper, Marsh said: “I’m really excited to be here. I know it’s a massive club with big aspirations. Obviously, I spoke to the gaffer and as soon as I spoke to him, my mind was made up really.
“I heard about the interest on Sunday and as soon as I heard about it, I just wanted it to be done as soon as possible. The gaffer showed me where he wants me to play. I know it’s a really competitive team with a lot of good players and I’m really looking forward to going straight into it and hopefully playing my first game tomorrow.
“Hopefully I can get them off their seats and they see goals and assists. I look to create chances and I’ll give 100 per cent every game, no matter what happens. I can stick to my word and I can give them that.”
Chesterfield land ‘talented young player’
Chesterfield’s assistant manager Danny Webb, meanwhile, said: “Louie is a talented young player who’s coming into the building with a real desire to have a successful season. He has a solid level of experience for a player of his age and adds to our attacking threat.
“We’re all delighted that he has made the move and we’re looking forward to getting him involved as soon as possible.”
