Sheffield United 'keen' on landing Leeds United, West Ham and Leicester City-linked playmaker

Sheffield United are reportedly keen on landing former Coventry City talisman Callum O’Hare.

The attacking midfielder is arguably among the most eye-catching free agents on the market, having recently left Coventry. He was a key figure for the Sky Blues but departed upon the expiry of his contract, putting a number of clubs on alert.

Leeds United have been linked with the 26-year-old, while there has also been talk of admiring glances from the likes of West Ham United and Leicester City.

According to The Star, Sheffield United are among the clubs who would like to add O’Hare to their ranks. The club’s transfer activity has been slowed by the takeover process but Blades boss Chris Wilder is thought to be keen to pick up the speed.

Jamie Shackleton has already arrived in South Yorkshire, making a free transfer switch from Leeds. The Blades have also been linked with Sam McCallum, who departed Norwich City at the end of last season.

O’Hare would undeniably be a coup for Sheffield United, especially considering the reports of Premier League interest. He was among the most dangerous attacking outlets in the Championship last term when fit and on form, scoring six goals in 31 appearances.

A former England under-20 international, he ascended Aston Villa’s youth ranks before making the move to Coventry. He left the Sky Blues having made 182 appearances for the club in all competitions.
