Tyler Bindon 'on verge' of loan move from Nottingham Forest to Charlton Athletic after Sheffield United spell

Nottingham Forest’s Tyler Bindon again appears to be Championship-bound following his season on loan at Sheffield United

Nottingham Forest defender Tyler Bindon is reportedly set for a return to the Championship following his season on loan at Sheffield United.

The 21-year-old joined the Blades on a temporary basis last summer having made a permanent move from Reading to Forest months prior.

He had ups and downs in a turbulent season at Bramall Lane, yet it was clear he was a player with potential to forge out a career at a high level.

Tyler Bindon set for EFL return

According to Football Insider, the New Zealand international is set to continue his development in the second tier of English football.

Charlton Athletic are said to be on the verge of tying Bindon to a season-long loan deal, fending off interest from Championship rivals.

A move to The Valley is arguably a sensible one for the cultured centre-back, who faces stern competition for places in the Forest ranks.

Tyler Bindon’s Sheffield United spell

Earlier this year, while still om the books of the Blades, Bindon left the door open for a potential return to Bramall Lane.

However, with Charlton seemingly close to securing his signature, a return to South Yorkshire looks incredibly unlikely.

In March, as reported by The Star, he said: “I'm always learning so while I was out of the team, it was just about how I could best put myself forward to help everyone around me in the situation that I was in. Just keep going about my business the way that I know how to do it.

“Who knows what happens beyond then? The future's undecided and no one knows exactly what's going to happen. But I think no matter what you do every day, you can always learn and grow. As a person, as a player, as a parent, as a colleague, as a friend. No matter what you're doing.

“I feel very much at home. I think the fans have been amazing to me. The staff and all the players have been really supportive, so I'm very grateful towards them all.”
