Wolves confirm permanent move for ex-Stoke City man Ki-Jana Hoever after Sheffield United loan spell
Ki-Jana Hoever has found a permanent home following his loan spell at Sheffield United
Ki-Jana Hoever has sealed a permanent move away from Wolverhampton Wanderers following his loan spell at Sheffield United.
The 24-year-old, an attack-minded right back, was drafted in by Sheffield United during the winter transfer window.
He made 16 appearances for the Blades before seeing his loan deal expire at the end of their Championship campaign.
Hoever‘s parent club were relegated from the Premier League in his absence, although it did not pave the way for a reintegration.

New home for ex-Sheffield United loanee
Wolves have allowed the former Netherlands youth international to join Czech giants Sparta Prague on a permanent basis.
Wolves’ technical director Matt Jackson said: “When a player has a year left on his contract, you have to try and find a solution which works for all parties, and this does. Ki’s always been a great professional, so we’re delighted for him and he leaves with our best wishes.
“He’s had plenty of opportunities here but has never been able to convince any manager. We’ve managed his loans well, with good exposure, and his communication and application have been excellent, but sometimes players need to know they’re somewhere permanently.
“When you’re not in a rhythm of playing regularly, it’s tough, you return from a loan, and you’re not fully part of it, so he’s suffered. He has talent, so moving to Prague with his young family, he can settle and will be better in a stable situation.”

Ki-Jana Hoever’s career path
Hoever joined Wolves from Liverpool in 2020 but manged just 33 senior appearances across six years on the books of the Midlands club.
Prior to his move to Sheffield United, the defender had loan stints at PSV Eindhoven, Stoke City and Auxerre.
Sparta Prague’s sports director and ex-Arsenal playmaker Tomáš Rosický said: “Ki-Jana has had a rich football journey at the age of 24, regularly playing in the French Ligue 1 or the English Championship.
“He also went through the academies of Ajax and Liverpool, an environment where players learn to want to win from a young age.
“On the right side, he brings speed, strength, technical quality and the courage to play forward. At the same time, from his previous engagements, he is used to a physical style of play and is not afraid of duels. We believe that he will show his great potential with us and help the team win.”
Hoever has penned what has been described as a ‘multi-year’ contract.
