Callum O’Hare has insisted he will always be proud of the fact he has represented Sheffield United.

The 28-year-old departed South Yorkshire on deadline day, sealing a move to Sheffield United’s Championship rivals Wrexham.

He left having made a total of 98 appearances for the Blades, across which he registered 14 goals and 14 assists.

His sale dealt a bitter blow to Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder, who did not want to lose the creative playmaker.

Callum O’Hare’s Sheffield United farewell

In a farewell message issued via Instagram, O’Hare said: “Blades! It’s really been an absolute pleasure to play for you.

“To all the fans the staff and the boys thank you for making my time here so good.

“I’ve loved every minute and football changes so quick but I’ll always be proud to have played for Sheffield United. Thank you for everything.”

First words as Wrexham player

In his first interview as a Wrexham player, the former England youth international spoke of his new club’s ambition.

He told the club’s website: “Everyone knows about Wrexham. hey’re pushing, and that for me is perfect - a team that is pushing for success who will keep going until it aligns. I’m really excited.

“I was out in LA on holiday, and you could see things about Wrexham out there - the club is really big and well-known. I just wanted to come here - I’m excited to start.

“I’ve played lots of games in this league in some big games, and I hope that I can bring that into the changing room and together we can keep pushing forward.

“I came here last year, and you could feel the energy from the fans straight away. Once Wrexham scored last year, it was mental. I’m excited to be on the right side of that this time.”

“My goals are for us to keep pushing as a club, as a player and to see how far we can get. I want to help the club, and for the club to help me, too - hopefully we can achieve what everyone wants.

“The fans are passionate, and I’m just as passionate - hopefully it will be a great match. I can’t wait to see you all at the Racecourse and get going.”
