Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder on 'digging in' amid Blades off-the-field issues plus update on Barnsley FC linked player
SHEFFIELD United manager Chris Wilder has pledged to ‘dig in’ amid a troubled time for the Championship outfit – after the company used to buy the club was placed into liquidation by the High Court on Wednesday.
A winding-up petition was filed last month against COH Sports Bidco Limited (CBSL) – the company Helmy Eltoukhy and Steve Rosen set up to buy the Blades from former owners United World - who sold the club for just over £100million in December 2024.
Around £35m is still owed to United World as part of the deal.
United World has warned current owners Eltoukhy and Rosen that they will lose control of the club if they fail to pay what is still owed and have claimed the club could face a 12-point deduction under EFL Regulation 12.3.

The EFL have said it would consider the implications of CSBL's liquidation "including whether any further action is required".
The Independent Football Regulator (IFR) said it was "examining the court's decision on COH Sport in detail" and was "in contact with the club and the EFL".
Wilder, who experienced very testing situation earlier in his managerial career at the likes of Halifax and Northampton Town, said: “I’m more determined than ever to dig in and get on with the job and you have to deal with these situations.
"I've had to deal with them all my managerial career.

"The majority of managers always have challenges, different types of challenges and I suppose if we had an unlimited wage bill and an unlimited budget and everything was going fine, there's still incredible pressures that you have to deal with.
"I think I've become hardened to them as well. I deal with them case by case and it's something that we just have to deal with as a football club.
"But the players understand that it's their job to win football matches, my job and the coach's job to prepare.
"I've got a huge responsibility to the players. I really like the group that we've got. I want to add to them to make us better and I've got a responsibility to the coaches as well.
"I've got a fantastic group of young coaches that are looking up to me as well so I have to concentrate on the main event, understanding of course what's happening in the background, especially living locally.
“You would look to the two people that are at the front of it or the two groups at the front of it and they would rather have peace, I should imagine, but it's the way of the world it isn't to be and I just have to get on with my job.”
Meanwhile, Wilder has confirmed that Barnsley are one of the club interested in bringing in young midfielder Louie Marsh, who will be loaned out before the transfer deadline.
The Blades chief, whose side visit Swansea on Saturday, added: “Yes, he needs to go out and play football. He's in that stage.
"There are clubs in for him. He's spoken to Barnsley and I should imagine before the window shuts that he will be out on loan and playing his football somewhere else and hopefully for him it goes well, scores a few goals, he makes an impact in the team that he goes to and has that feel of first-team football.”
