The Millers secured their first away victory in 41 league games, ending the dismal run with a 1-0 win over Cambridge United. Steve Evans’ side left it late, but escaped the Abbey Stadium with three points after Sam Nombe struck in stoppage time.
Birmingham maintained their unbeaten record by piling the misery on Huddersfield Town, who are now winless in four league games. Michael Duff’s side had chances to take the lead early on but squandered them, eventually being sunk by former transfer target Alfie May.
Barnsley had to share the spoils with Wycombe Wanderers, drawing 2-2 at Oakwell. Richard Kone appeared to have won it for the Chairboys before Marc Roberts responded with just one minute of normal time remaining.
Elsewhere, Wrexham saw their promotion hopes take a hit with a 1-0 defeat to Stevenage, while Wigan Athletic cruised to an impressive 3-0 win over Peterborough United.
