'We could have won four games': Huddersfield Town boss Michael Duff frustrated by Crawley Town draw

Huddersfield boss Michael Duff admitted he was not happy with a point after his team twice fought back from a goal behind to force a 2-2 draw at struggling Crawley.

Duff felt the Terriers had enough chances “to win four games” but is pleased that his side are now unbeaten in the last five league games.

Huddersfield fell behind to a Rushian Hepburn-Murphy goal at the break, and Crawley came close to increasing their lead shortly after the interval when Toby Mullarkey released Panutche Camara and his cross was missed by Swan in the middle of the goal.

But Town levelled as substitute Rhys Healey struck on the hour mark, stooping to head in a Wiles corner at the near post.

Then, after Max Anderson had restored Crawley’s lead on 65 minutes, Herbie Kane made it 2-2 three minutes later with a close range shot after Brodie Spencer had chested the ball down, as the Terriers drew for only the second time this season.

Huddersfield pushed hard for a winner in the closing stages but Crawley, with only one win in eight league games under Rob Elliot, held out.

Duff said: “Am I happy with a point at Crawley? No, but people assume that you roll over these teams.

“They had three shots and scored two goals. We could have won four games today.

“But we’re now unbeaten in five in the league and it’s a start. Now we need to find moments of quality when games start to get stretched.”

Duff admitted he felt “mixed emotions” on a day when actor Patrick Stewart, a life long Huddersfield fan, watched his side from the stands.

“He was great. He has legendary status but I’m not sure how many of the lads know about Star Trek,” Duff added.

“He came in to see the players and loves watching the team whenever he can.”
