THE Manchester United side that lined up against York City at Old Trafford in September 1995 may have been light of a few of their talismanic forces, but it was still an extremely strong one.

Full England internationals Paul Parker, Lee Sharpe and Gary Pallister started for the Red Devils, along with future ones in Phil Neville and David Beckham, with football’s pin-up boy Ryan Giggs also starting for the hosts.

Two of York’s side went on to play part of their careers in the Premier League in goalkeeper Dean Kiely and full-back Graeme Murty.
