Jackie McNamara appointed as new York City manager


McNamara was previously in charge of Partick Thistle and Dundee United in Scotland.
Russ Wilcox was sacked as City manager on October 26. McNamara will be the fourth manager at Bootham Crescent since October 2010.

It represents a swift return to management for McNamara, who was only relieved of his duties at United on September 26 after a 2-1 loss to St. Johnstone.
The Minstermen are currently fighting to stay in the Football League. They are 22nd in League Two with 12 points, having 1-0 lost against Crawley Town on Saturday.
