The winger, who was also adept at full-back, made his first team debut for the Rams in March 2015, in a 28-18 Challenge Cup victory over Newcastle Thunder.

He also played against Warrington Wolves in the Cup quarter-final defeat in May later that year and was an integral part of the side that helped Dewsbury win the 2015 Reserves Championship.

“Will played a big part in the team. He went about his business in a quiet way and was always professional," said Jonathan Schofield, who coached the Reserves side at the Rams during Forsyth's time at the club.

“Will was a good lad to coach and he had the respect of us all, especially his team mates.

“He was great to have around the dressing room and he will be sadly missed by everyone.”

As a junior, Forsyth was on the books at Bradford Bulls and Dewsbury expressed their condolences to Forsyth's family.

A club statement read: "The club would like to extend its deepest condolences at this very sad time to Will’s family, friends, team-mates and colleagues.
