South Yorkshire's own Toby Foster will join other Phoenix Nights co-stars for a night of comedy celebrating the classic TV show's 25th anniversary.

How Far Away Are They? brings Phoenix Nights stars closer than ever in an intimate live show at Sheffield City Hall on Saturday, August 1, at 8pm - get tickets here.

Expect plenty of "Garlic bread!" and "Come and get your black bin bags" moments and stories from behind the bar of Britain's most gloriously chaotic working men's club.

The panel brings together five familiar faces from Peter Kay's much-loved comedy: Neil Fitzmaurice (Ray Von), Steve Edge (Alan), Janice Connolly (Holy Mary), Archie Kelly (Kenny Senior) – and beloved South Yorkshire funnyman Toby Foster, who played drummer Les.For local audiences.

The show covers the making of the series, featuring a rotating cast of original actors, including regular guests Neil Fitzmaurice (Ray Von and co writer of Phoenix Nights), Toby Foster (Les), Steve Edge (Alan), Janice Connolly (Holy Mary) and Archie Kelly (Kenny Senior).placeholder image

Toby's appearance adds an extra reason to be there. As one of the region's best-known broadcasters, the BBC Radio Sheffield legend has remained a familiar voice, making this something of a homecoming for the local favourite.

Opening the evening is comedian Phil Walker, whose father, Catchphrase host Roy Walker, famously made a guest appearance at The Phoenix Club in the very first episode of Phoenix Nights, on January 14, 2001.

The evening promises stories from rehearsals and filming, behind-the-scenes mishaps, memories of the legendary nights at The Press Club, and what it was really like taking Phoenix Nights Live to the Manchester Arena.

Fans will also have the chance to put their own questions to the cast during a live Q&A. Whether you can quote every episode, still remember the club's unforgettable characters, or simply fancy a nostalgic night out packed with laughter, this promises to be a rare opportunity to hear directly from the people who helped create one of Britain's most enduring sitcoms.
