With more than 800 pubs nationwide, more than 90 Greene King pubs are located in Yorkshire and are offering free drinks during the World Cup 2022 matches. Lucky football fans and pub goers could be with a chance of getting a free pint if they share their surname with an England or Wales player.

Greene King pubs are offering a free pint or bottle of Ice Breaker Pale Ale or a soft drink alternative to any customer that qualifies during the home nations group stages of the upcoming football tournament this winter.

Head of marketing for Greene King sport, Chris Conchie, said: “Any international football tournament is a major event for fans, and since the success of the Lionesses earlier this year, all eyes are on the men’s teams this winter.

“This limited time offer is more than just a free drink, it’s a chance for us, as your home of pub sport, to provide the best environment for people to come and show their support right across the UK for our England and Wales stars as they pursue glory at the highest level of international football.”

The offer is available in more than 90 pubs in Yorkshire during each of the live England and Wales group stage matches; guests must bring a valid, in date photo ID (photo driver’s licence, passport or card bearing the ‘PASS’ logo).

All customers must show their photo ID at the bar of any participating pub which are listed on the Greene King website, during a live group game involving either home nation.

Every England and Wales group stage fixture will be shown live across 800 Greene King sports pubs nationwide.
