Yorkshire’s Poshest Hotel: Grantley Hall: Helen Skelton visits Yorkshire stately home for Channel 5 series
The next Channel 5 episode of Yorkshire’s Poshest Hotel: Grantley Hall will see Helen Skelton celebrating a loved one’s birthday.
The fourth episode of Yorkshire’s Poshest Hotel: Grantley Hall - which airs on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 8am on Channel 5 - will focus on afternoon tea, one of the stately home’s most popular food services.
Tens of thousands of cakes, scones and artistically crafted sweet treats are served at the hotel every year.
The culinary artists responsible for baking these treats are executive pastry chef Stefan and his sous chef Shannon. One of their special ingredients is on their latest menu - locally-sourced Yorkshire forced rhubarb.

To source the best local rhubarb, Stefan and Shannon go to meet Robert Tomlinson, affectionately known as ‘Rhubarb Robert’. He’s a fourth generation rhubarb farmer whose family have been growing rhubarb at Pudsey, in West Yorkshire’s famed ‘Rhubarb Triangle’, for more than 140 years.
A familiar face will be visiting Grantley Hall during the episode - TV presenter Helen Skelton will be treating her parents to a stay to celebrate her dad’s 70th birthday.
The hotel is also preparing for one of their busiest periods of the year: Christmas. Interior and ambience manager Marek and his assistant Shelley are tasked with masterminding the festive decorations, including a 30ft Christmas tree in front of the hotel reception.
However, positioning the tree proves no easy task, as a technical issue leaves Marek and the maintenance team with a major headache.
Prices of rooms at Grantley Hall vary from £1,000 to £4,000 a night and it aims to feel like a ‘posh guesthouse’ with down-to-earth Yorkshire hospitality.
For each episode of the series, cameras follow the team who help to run the hotel, from managers to chefs, housekeepers and porters, and will capture the intricate attention to detail needed to deliver top service.
