Claim homes could lose value due to York holiday park's expansion
The expansion of a York holiday park has been approved.
City of York Council planning officers approved plans for seven new lodges and a pod at York Lakeside Lodges, in Moor Lane, Dringhouses.
The holiday park’s plans stated it was already well-established and provided high-quality lodges set around an attractive lake for guests.
But 11 objections were lodged against the plans including claims it would see nearby homes lose their value, cause congestion, noise and harm wildlife.

The approval of the plans from holiday park owner William Mason come after they were lodged with the council in September.
They are set to see a pod and seven new lodges added to the existing 14 at the site.
Lodges are arranged around Hogg’s Pond and the park features hot tubs and offers fishing.
Quiet hours are in place from 10pm to 8am and excessive noise and antisocial behaviour is not allowed.
The park’s owners can ask those who break its rules to leave, according to planning documents.
Its application stated: “The proposals comprise a small-scale expansion of an existing tourism and leisure park.
“The site is on the edge of the city, albeit in open countryside, but it very much feels like you are both in the city and the countryside when you visit, it’s a unique character and setting.”
Objections to the plans claimed the natural beauty of the site would be harmed by building new lodges.
They also claimed the Moor Lane roundabout and access road were too narrow to accommodate more traffic and local electricity supplies were at their limit.
Others claimed neighbours had been disturbed by loud noises late at night including music, parties and fireworks.
Council planning officers ruled they believed residents’ reasonable amentity would not be materially harmed.
