Yorkshire Spa Retreat, Helmsley: New bar and restaurant The Dome opens with stunning scenic views

A new bar and restaurant situated inside two domes with stunning, scenic views has opened in Yorkshire.

The Dome, located at Yorkshire Spa Retreat, is an a 80-cover restaurant with a menu that is a “tribute to Yorkshire”.

Housed within two “domes”, the eatery will provide scenic views across the park’s natural swim pond and landscaped gardens.

It will also feature an outdoor dining den for private parties.

The diverse menu, created by chef Stefan Rares-Burducea, focuses on locally sourced produce and features traditional Sunday roasts, charcuterie sharing boards, vegetarian platters and cream teas.

This December will also see the launch of The Dome’s festive menu with dieshes such as roast turkey, oven baked cod with chorizo and butternut squash and sage ravioli with pumpkin sauce, parmesan and truffle oil

Chef Stefan is a Yorkshire resident who moved to the UK from Romania in 2016.

His career began in 2013, with Stefan reaching the final stage of Masterchef in Romania, and has seen him train alongside Michelin star and industry respected chefs including Adam Jackson and Paul Owens.

Stefan explained: “The Dome’s menu is a true tribute to Yorkshire.

"I wanted to explore the ingredients that the county is known for, and create food that celebrates the area.

"Myself and the team have worked hard to devise a menu that will really impress our guests but also appeal to a diverse audience.

“I want to see groups of friends enjoying the space with a bottle of wine, walkers tucking into cream teas and families sitting down to enjoy a Sunday roast.”

The restaurant is open seven days a week for lodge guests and non-residents.

The Helmsley-based luxury spa development is set in the splendour of the North Yorkshire Moors countryside.
