Everyman sees revenues lift as it says new Dune and Avengers films amongst ‘strong pipeline of releases’
Cinema chain Everyman has seen its revenues lift as the company said big releases including Dune: Part Three and Avengers: Doomsday were adding to a “strong pipeline of content” for the rest of the year.
Everyman, which has sites in Leeds and York, posted revenues of £69.8m for the first half of the year, up 23.5 per cent on the same period a year prior.
It came as the company also posted pre-tax profit of £0.1m, up from a pre-tax loss of £2.7m a year prior.
The firm said that while the first half of the year had been “positive”, its directors were retaining a “degree of caution for the full year outlook due to the challenging economic environment”.

Everyman also pointed to a string of big name releases in the second half of the year, however, which it said gave it "confidence for the full year”.
These included Sense and Sensibility in September and The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping in November, as well as Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three in December.
Everyman also saw admissions of 2.6m during the period, up 20.5 per cent on a year prior.
Farah Golant CBE, chief executive of Everyman Media Group Plc, said: "We have momentum and a strong focus to manage the business with discipline and prudent investment. Through diverse and imaginative film curation, beautifully designed signature spaces and a distinctive service style in strategically located venues, the Everyman brand is leading the way for audiences seeking premium cinema as an irresistibly social experience."
