Heck reduces the size of its vegan range to focus on meat free sausages and burgers
Jamie Keeble, co-founder and head of sales at the Bedale-based business, said the company was not pulling out of the vegan market altogether but confirmed its range had reduced from 15 to two products to focus on growing the number of vegan sausages and burgers it sells.
Mr Keeble insisted there was still demand from supermarkets for its meat free range.

“We make 90,000 vegan sausages daily and we are stocked in all of the supermarkets,” Mr Keeble told The Yorkshire Post.
In 2019, Heck announced plans to triple its range of vegan products to cater for a growing market.
“Because of global meat prices, we predict that nearly all our sales will be vegan in the future,” Mr Keeble said at the time.

The company, which employs around 130 people, invested £600,000 in new freezing equipment to produce the range at its dedicated vegan facility.
However, it now plans to grow the meat-free side of the business with a reduced range of core products.
Last month, Heck featured in a special vegan episode of BBC Two series Inside the Factory.
