New bar set to open in Leeds after plans to convert disused building agreed
A new bar is set to open in Morley after plans to convert a disused building were agreed with the city council.
A former accountant’s office on Queen Street will be redeveloped after Leeds City Council granted planning permission.
A planning report said the building dates back to around 1870 and is part of the Morley Conservation Area.
A planning officer’s report said serving hours at the premises would be limited to 11.30pm daily to avoid disturbance for nearby householders.

It said: “It is not considered that the proposal would give rise to undue levels of noise or disturbance that would adversely affect the living conditions of nearby residential occupiers.”
The project would involve a Victorian-style refurbishment of two former shop fronts on the street.
A commercial kitchen would be installed as part of the project.
Planning reports said roof repairs, the installation of an extractor vent and window replacements would also be carried out on the vacant premises.
A design report said: “The redevelopment of the ground floor retail space will ensure the building is utilised and maintained.
“The building will retain the original slate roof, with some replacement slates required on the rear of the property with like-for-like repairs as necessary.”
