Taylor’s teams up for a taste of tradition
Shepherds Purse of Thirsk will supply its award-winning cheeses and Just Desserts of Shipley has baked a fruitcake made with the Keighley brewery’s iconic bitter.
Adrian Sykes, food development manager at Timothy Taylor, said: “It’s a long-established British tradition to serve fruit cake with cheese, so we wanted to find like-minded businesses to work with us to create a delicious cheeseboard and cake combination.”

Hide AdThe brewer’s chefs chose Shepherds Purse after a tour of the dairy. They asked Just Desserts, a regular supplier, to bake a rich fruitcake using one of their pale ales.
Mr Sykes said: “As one of only a few independently run traditional Yorkshire brewers, it is great to be able to deal with two successful Yorkshire businesses producing traditional, high quality, handcrafted products.
“Both are award-winning producers and we are delighted to be able to offer their products to our foodie customers from February 13.”
Shepherds Purse said: “We are delighted to be working with such a highly regarded Yorkshire brewer.”
