The Mustard Pot: Leeds pub temporarily closes during major transformation following a £230,000 investment
The Mustard Pot is the latest Marston’s pub to go through an extensive £230,000 refurbishment.
The Mustard Pot located in Leeds city centre closed temporarily on October 12, 2026, to allow for a rigorous overhaul before reopening as a ‘Grandstand’ sports pub which cost £230,000.
It will relaunch on November 4, 2026, and the popular community pub will include new features designed to offer a stadium-style experience.
The refurbishment will include the installation of technology, including multiple large screens, an immersive sound system, and flexible tiered seating.

The beer garden will also be renovated, with new TV screens installed, and locals will be able to order through Marston's ‘Order and Pay’ app.
The Mustard Pot will also be decorated with local sports memorabilia and is calling on the community to share photographs and items to help celebrate the achievements of local sports stars and teams, past and present.
Operations manager, Zoe Eastwood, said: “We are so excited about the plans to re-open as a Grandstand pub.
“We know our locals are sporting mad and can’t wait to be able to offer them the best possible experience when they can visit us again.”

Located in the heart of Chapel Allerton, Leeds, The Mustard Pot is a community pub, where locals and families can sit and relax with a drink, watch sports, or indulge in food, as well as take a stroll around the nearby Chapel Allerton Park or explore the independent shops along Stainbeck Lane.
Once the pub has reopened, it will show all key sporting fixtures, including football, rugby, cricket, tennis, F1, darts, horse racing and more.
Guests can also take part in classic pub games and regular entertainment and events that bring the local community together.
A new range of bar food will also be introduced which will suit half-time and larger groups. The ‘Match Day Menu’ will feature hand-held bites such as chicken wings and nachos, and pub favourites such as fish and chips, grills, and burgers. The Mustard Pot has also refreshed its range of drinks, with all draught beers available in two-pint cups.
Local sports teams will be able to apply for a ‘Black Card’, giving them access to exclusive offers, bottomless chips on team nights and rewards for celebrating wins at their local.
