Tracsis wins milestone contract

TRANSPORT software firm Tracsis has won a contract with a major UK train operating company.

The contract secures licence revenue for the recently released TRACSRoster optimisation suite for a period of three years and is worth over 150,000.

The Leeds-based company described the contract win as a "key milestone" in the rollout of its product range and said it should pave the way for broader industry acceptance.

The group said it continues to trade profitably and results have been in line with expectations.

But it warned of likely delays to pitching for the Essex Thameside and Greater Anglia franchises which has resulted from the change in government.

The DfT has today announced plans for a consultation exercise on rail franchising policy to be carried out prior to further franchises being re-let.

Tracsis said it believes this is purely a timing issue and there is no material reduction to trading activity in the mid term.

To minimise the impact of these delays the group has re-directed resources away from franchise bidding and onto further roll-out of software.
