The Yorkshire Shepherdess appears in Ewe Tube, a digital platform designed to help people sleep by watching soothing footage of sheep and the stunning Dales countryside.

Viewers are encouraged to count the ewes that appear on screen to help them nod off.

Amanda and her husband Clive farm at Ravenseat in Swaledale, one of the most remote areas of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and star alongside their nine children in the Channel Five series Our Yorkshire Farm.

Sleep expert Natalie Pennicotte-Collier has also contributed to the project and there are parody sketches based on films with titles such as The Queen's Lambit and 2001: A Space Odysheep.

The new channel was commissioned in response to market research by the budget hotel chain which found that their customers were losing sleep to late-night screen time - though 13 per cent admitted to using the traditional method of counting sheep to help.

The footage includes relaxing music and natural rural sounds recorded at Ravenseat Farm.

Mrs Owen said: “It is amazing to be involved in Ewe Tube, Premier Inn’s first ever video streaming platform. I worked with the team and my flock of sheep (including some recently born lambs!) to create some entertaining and soothing content that will hopefully remind Brits of the beauty of the UK countryside, and help them to count sheep in real life, so that they too can rest easy."
