celebration

Newlywed Cheryl Cole has a double reason to celebrate after achieving her ninth number one single.

The former Girls Aloud star’s new track, Crazy Stupid Love, featuring Tinie Tempah, went straight to the top of the charts.

The track is the singer’s fourth number one as a solo artist, placing her alongside Geri Halliwell and Rita Ora as only the third British female to claim the feat.

Cole, who tied the knot with French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in a secret ceremony in Mustique earlier this month, said: “It feels great to be back but even more special to have achieved my fourth number one. So exciting!”

Canadian reggae-infusion band Magic! were at number two after climbing up from number 50 last week, followed by former X Factor contestant Ella Henderson with Ghost, who was up one place to number three.

George Ezra’s Budapest is also up one spot to number four, while Ariana Grande’s Problem featuring Iggy Azalea slid three places to five.

With over 1.2 million hits, the song is the most streamed track of the week, while four others have also been streamed over a million times; Magic!’s Rude (1.17 million), Ezra’s Budapest (1.13 million), Ed Sheeran’s Sing (1.08 million) and Henderson’s Ghost (1.06 million).

Sheeran’s X remains at number one in the albums chart for a fifth consecutive week.
