Police release CCTV after ticketless man punches train worker in face

Police have released CCTV of a man suspected of punching a train worker in the face when told to leave for not having a ticket.

The man boarded a train from Hull Paragon Interchange to Doncaster without a ticket at around 6.45am on August 6.

When a member of train staff then told him he’d have to leave the train at Hessle Railway Station, he pushed the worker and punched him in the face.

The member of train staff suffered a concussion, severe bruising to neck and chest, and required stitches to his ear.

Officers believe the man in the CCTV image could have information that may assist their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to text BTP on 61016, or call 0800 40 50 40, using the reference 94 of 6 August.

Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
