Eating disorders under spotlight

A CONFERENCE in north Lincolnshire next month seeks to raise awareness of eating disorders and the best way to tackle them.

Organisers North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus eating disorder specialist service helps people aged over 14, diagnosed with anorexia nervosa and/or bulimia nervosa.

The conference will take place on Monday, October 4, at The Legacy Oaklands Country House Hotel, Laceby (near Grimsby) from 9am to 5pm.

The event will bring together a number of speakers and cover a wide range of topics relating to eating disorders and nutritional interventions.

First speaker will be Deanne Jade, founder and principal of the National Centre for Eating Disorders, Surrey, who will speak about therapist qualities. Consultant psychiatrist Dr Kate Kucharska-Pietura, clinical lead for the NEL specialist eating disorders service, who is taking part in the conference, said: "We are thrilled that so many people are able to speak at the event."
