Media museum unveils giant screen

One of Yorkshire’s most popular museums, has unveiled a giant IMAX screen on the front on of its premises as it aims to be “the place in Yorkshire to experience film”.

A 60ft x 48ft screen was carefully lowered into position by workmen at the National Media Museum in Bradford this morning and its presence will result in a greater number of IMAX releases at the Museum.

Among the upcoming releases expected to be shown at the musuem will be the new James Bond film Sceptre and the first part of the new Star Wars Franchise, The Force Awakens.

Phil Oates, from the Media Museum, said: “Upgrading the IMAX theatre is part of our promise to improve the cinema operation at the Museum through our partnership with Picturehouse Cinemas – and crucial to us achieving our ambition to be the place in Yorkshire to experience film.”
