Car parking in Dewsbury town centre is practically non-existent - Yorkshire Post Letters
From: Hilary Trotter, Earlsheaton.
Parking in Dewsbury. Well where do I start? The parking is practically non-existent, plenty of loading bays, taxi stands, less parking for blue badge holders that is safe. Vehicles with no badge taking up space where blue badge holders park.
Double parking is as bad as it is in Batley, where are the wardens?
Also where are the shops? We have no butchers or bread shops, independent shops that sell quality fayre.

The arcade is sad after all the hype of what we were promised, no atmosphere, empty shops with dirty grubby windows. It’s a short cut Arcade through town. The flooring was dirty; it looked grubby and unkempt .
Should I mention the temporary market stalls are a joke. I feel sorry for the traders, winter weather is coming, there’s no shelter for them or customers. Where's the public conveniences especially when the council says the town and refurb of the arcade will bring in visitors? It would be a joke but it’s so sad.
Will they get their heads out of the sand and get somebody in that understands what the local people want? They don’t want to travel out of town to shop; they want their local town back.
