Paul Buttoo
Yash Pal Buttoo, Paul to his friends, had arrived in the West Riding with just a few pounds in his pocket but soon found work in a local biscuit factory and then as a bus conductor.
It wasn’t long before he started his own business, which occupied a prominent position on Harrison Road, near the former magistrates’ court.
