Maldives tops
list for exotic foreign breaks

Britons happy to holiday in far-flung destinations are making tracks to Mexico, Vietnam
and Cuba says travel company Kuoni.

The Maldives remains the top long-haul destination, followed by Thailand, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates, which includes Dubai.

Vietnam was just 23rd in the Kuoni list of best-selling destinations in 2011 but was 14th at the end of 2013, while Mexico is up from 29th in 2011 to 17th.

Kuoni managing director Derek Jones said: “Vietnam has seen huge developments in its tourism industry over the last few years, with investment in a wide choice of hotels and sightseeing options.”
