Huddersfield Town 1 Luton Town 1: Lack of clinical edge at both ends costly for Terriers
Huddersfield Town attacked and attacked against Luton Town, hitting a post through Derensili Sanches Fernandes and finding the net through Joe Taylor.
But a few seconds of defensive doziness as errors piled on top of one another was all it took to end their four-match winning streak.
It was harsh on the Terriers, but they were not the only team on the pitch who are hard to beat at the moment.
It may not be the elite level Hatters manager Jack Wilshere used to play at, but even in England's third tier you need to be clinical at both ends, and Town's failure to do that stopped an otherwise good performance being a winning one as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Huddersfield had the better of the first half but one moment of awful defending meant they finished it behind.
The Terriers were playing with the confidence both sides ought to have gone into the game with after four straight wins, as shown by Cameron Humphreys twice trying to score from corners. His first effort dropped onto the roof of the net in the 13th minute, his second had to be tipped over by James Shea seven minutes later.
But the Terriers needed to get in front before they could showboat, and despite their best efforts, could not do so.
Marcus Harness had a shot touched behind after a nice turn and shot wide. Taylor had at the goalkeeper and Archie Collins volleyed very wide when a long throw-in dropped to him.

But their best chance came on the half-hour.
When former Hull City midfielder Kasey Palmer brought a Fernandes dribble to an abrupt end, the winger's free-kick took a deflection on its way to the far post. Even the ricochet nearly bounced in off a Luton defender.
So it looked for all the world as though Town would be the first scorers, but they were caught out in the 41st minute when left-back San Roughan overcommitted at a long ball, letting Jamie Donley. He let them off the hook by failing to find an orange shirt with his ball in, but the hosts failed to clear it, former Barnsley player Jordan Clark eventually putting an end to the nonsense with the goal.
Taylor's goal early in the second half should have fired the starting gun on a comeback but instead, Huddersfield ran into a succession of nearly moments.

Twice in a minute Town got to the right byline and put the ball over.
Having got above his man, Taylor headed Collins' centre wide. But when Fernandes did something similar a minute later, he thrashed in a volley.
But the second would not come.
Mumba twice did well down the left but Harness hit his shot into a defender and when the wide man wriggled through a few minutes later, his cross only found Taylor's hand.
Picked out by a nice Humphreys pass, Taylor's touch let him down, and when Fernandes beat his man easily in the 73rd minute, he could not find a blue-and-white striped shirt.
It could have been worse, an alert Radinio Balker snuffing out a couple of threatening Luton counter-attacks, but Huddersfield are now the genuine League One title challengers they expected to be last season, they demand more of themselves.
