Holiday lets and historic buildings among latest North York Moors planning applications
New planning applications affecting holiday lets, listed buildings and conservation areas across the North York Moors National Park have been submitted for consideration.
The North York Moors National Park Authority has published a new list of planning applications covering sites in Scalby, Ampleforth, Aislaby, West Ayton, Helmsley and Thornton-le-Dale.
Among the proposals are applications linked to Prospect House Farm on Suffield Hill near Scalby.
The plans seek changes to previously approved holiday letting units created from converted agricultural outbuildings, including revised internal layouts, an additional doorway and glazing to a workshop door opening into the courtyard.

Separate applications relate to both planning permission and listed building consent for the site.
Elsewhere, replacement uPVC windows have been proposed for Tom Smith’s Cottage in Ampleforth, while plans in Aislaby near Whitby seek permission to demolish an existing garage and workshop building and replace it with a new structure for garaging and land management storage.
In West Ayton, an application has been submitted for the demolition and replacement of a conservatory at a property on Yedmandale Road.
Plans have also been lodged for access improvements at the Church of All Saints in Helmsley, including automated doors and changes to external stone path levels to improve wheelchair access.
Another application in Thornton-le-Dale proposes replacement timber sash windows, bifold doors and solar panels at Oak Tree Barn.
The applications can be viewed on the National Park Authority website, with comments accepted until June 11, 2026.
