We found a two-night family break in the February school holidays from £129. There’s a beach nearby and an indoor pool for when the weather does its worst. The real surprise is how little extra it could cost to stay longer.

A family break in the school holidays for £129 sounds like the sort of deal you’d expect to come with a catch. But that’s the price we found for two nights at a seaside holiday park with an indoor pool, a waterslide and a beach close by.

The deal is part of Parkdean Resorts’ February half-term offers for 2027. The £129 is the advertised starting price for the stay, rather than a price per person, and there are other short breaks within a few pounds of it if you’d rather head somewhere else.

The £129 break is at Southerness Holiday Park, on the Dumfries and Galloway coast in Scotland. February might be a touch optimistic for a paddle in the Solway Firth, but the park has a 25-metre indoor pool with a waterslide and a separate toddler pool. There’s also an amusement arcade and an outdoor adventure playground if the weather gives you a chance to use it.

Southerness is among the parks listed for a PAW Patrol meet-and-greet over half-term, which Parkdean advertises as free. Check the timetable for your dates before promising the kids anything. Activities vary by park and some cost extra.

What’s particularly interesting about the deals is how little it can cost to stay longer. When we checked, Parkdean was advertising three nights in Torquay from £134, just £5 more than the two-night Southerness break. And if you can make four nights work, Nodes Point on the Isle of Wight was listed from £139. That’s only £10 more for twice as many nights, although you’ll want to factor in the ferry before deciding which is the better deal.

There were also three-night stays listed from £143 at Kessingland Beach in Suffolk and from £145 at Looe Bay in Cornwall. If you’ve got a fixed budget, it’s worth comparing two, three and four nights before assuming the shortest break will be the cheapest.

February half-term dates vary by school, so check yours before getting too attached to a particular price. The advertised rates are starting prices, and what you’ll actually pay depends on your dates, accommodation and what’s still available for your family.
