Five men given confidential information by police support officer found guilty in plot to kill two men

Five men who were given confidential information by a serving West Yorkshire Police PCSO have been found guilty in a plot to kill two men in Bradford last year.

Two men, aged 30 and 31 at the time, were seriously hurt after being attacked by several men armed with machetes on Tickhill Street at around 10pm on May 11, 2025.

One of the men, 30-year-old Usamah Khan, fled and managed to get into a friend’s car, which then drove off.

He suffered serious injuries to his neck, police said.

Zayad Khan, 31, ran in the opposite direction but was caught and attacked.

When officers arrived at the scene they found him with life changing injuries.

As part of the investigation, a West Yorkshire Police Community Support Officer was found to have accessed operational information and subsequently passed it on to the five defendants who were all charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Following the trial, PCSO Alice Dobson, 30, was found guilty of perverting the course of justice.

At Bradford Crown Court on November 6, the five men and PCSO were convicted of numerous offences.

Dobson was also charged with other offences unrelated to this case.

She has already admitted to one count of perverting the course of justice and one count of misconduct in public office.

These offences comprise several instances of accessing police systems without a legitimate purpose, seeking to influence police investigations, and obtaining confidential information about individuals through police computer systems when there was no operational justification for doing so.

The five men were remanded into custody ahead of sentencing on February 8, 2027.

PCSO Dobson was bailed with a sentencing date to be fixed.

Detective Chief Superintendent Tanya Wilkins of West Yorkshire Police said: “This was a calculated, pre-planned, horrific attack on two men on the streets of Bradford where these men thought they could take the law into their own hands.“

“Today ends a lengthy court process. The victims are still living with the horrendous impact of the attack today.

“The conviction of PCSO Dobson for perverting the course of justice represents a serious breach of trust placed in those who serve our communities.

“We make it very clear to all staff from the outset of their employment that they must only access information held on police systems for a legitimate policing purpose. The public quite rightly should expect that any sensitive and confidential information recorded about them is protected.

“Our officers and staff are not above the law, and this case is an example of us rightly holding PCSO Dobson to account for her actions following a thorough Counter Corruption investigation.

“PCSO Dobson remains suspended from duty and will now face a gross misconduct hearing.”
